1996 – Argentina,
“You must accept the Dalai Lama’s invitation to India, he has asked for you specifically. He is very interested in this part you are playing and would like to see it. He was very close to Heinrich Harrer, I have explained your role and how well you have done with the part.” Geshe Lobsang Phelgyal spoke softly as he walked along side Brad. They were leaving for the airport tomorrow, the shoot for ‘Seven Years in Tibet’ now over. He had come to love and respect the young man over the past six and half months.
“I’m honored. Please tell his Holiness that I am honored to be invited.” Brad was nervous just thinking about the upcoming visit. In polite society people sometimes extend invitations out of politeness; not really expecting one to accept, but Brad knew, he was expected to come and that added to his nervousness. What did one say to the Dalai Lama? He was just an actor, one who hadn’t been to many places at that. What did he really know about the world? His time with Geshe Lobsang had been the most enlightening experience of his life. He yearned for more…hungered for it. His life’s path had led him to this place and this man. Now after six months of Geshe Lobsang’s tutelage, he was being invited to experience more.
Smiling and nodding Geshe Lobsang asked quietly, “Excellent, and when will you be joining us?”

2004- Los Angeles
Angie stood at the balcony watching her two and a half year old son play on the beach with her brother. “I know it sounds crazy mom…I know but I feel as though something is calling me…guiding me.”
“I understand bunny, but Bangkok? Why so far away?” Marcheline watched her daughter in wonder. Never in her wildest dreams would she have ever thought that such a magnificent creature would be her child; her creation. But as magnificent as she was, mom knew that sometimes her baby needed to be reeled in. She also knew when to sit back and watch; giving guidance where needed.
“I know it sounds wild mom and I know Bangkok is half a world away but, Sompng Kanhphai is there and he has agreed to do a reading and tattoo blessing for me. He’s the same artist that did my first Yantra He says that he has to meditate upon it first in order to get the perfect symbol for me. I really need to do this mom.”
“I know bunny. I just worry about you. Now you have Maddy, I worry about him too. You two are finally starting to heal and I just want things to stay positive for you babe.” Marcheline pushed herself up from her lounge chair. Her progress hampered by a body that had battled long and hard for survival.
Spinning around at the sound of her mother’s sigh, Angelina rushed to her aid, “No, mom sit…rest. The doctor wants you to do absolutely nothing and I promised him that I would see to it that you did absolutely nothing. Now lets get you…”
“No, bunny, if you are going to Bangkok and taking my grandchild, then I will be going with you,” raising her hand, she stopped Angelina’s words before they were even uttered. “No…no…don’t argue. I want this time with you and Maddy. It’s been a long time since we’ve had an adventure…you and I. I want that again.” She refrained from saying ‘one last time but the words were there, like a phantom hiding in the shadows. Marcheline knew her time on this earth was fast approaching its end and she wanted to spend as much of the little she had left, with her children and grandchild. “So come on and help me decide what to pack and we have to stop by and see the doctor, tell Jamie and…”
Angelina shook her head as her mother rambled off a list of ‘to do’ things. There was no stopping Marcheline once she had set her mind to something. It was a stubbornness or could it be a tenaciousness that she had passed onto her children. “Ok mommy, we’ll all go.”

1996 – Dharamsala, India…
Brad stared around him in wonder. Here he stood in the gardens of the main residence of the Dalai Lama’s inside his Temple Complex. He could not begin to describe how peaceful it was. He had spent a week in meditation and learning the chants necessary to produce the internal peacefulness that the brother monks embodied.
The people here were open and friendly. Brad could honestly say that he had made several good friends. He’d even learned to play polo along with a bit of the national horsemanship. He was honored with a place of study in the Dalai Lama’s temple.
This particular class was not a class open to the public. Brad had been given the honor from his Holiness himself. The knowledge that he’d gained, left Brad with questions about his Christian upbringing. It was not that he was disappointed, he just had questions. The Lama’s teachings
had helped him understand himself and his place in life, but he still had more questions. After a morning of meditation and a quiet breakfast with his friend Geshe Lobsang, Brad had wandered through the temples enjoying the sacred art and statues. Alone but at peace, he simply experienced the magnificence around him.
When he’d returned to his room, Geshe Lob had been waiting to lead him here to the main temple, where he awaited the Dalai Lama.

When he’d returned to his room, Geshe Lob had been waiting to lead him here to the main temple, where he awaited the Dalai Lama.
“Ahhh…brother Jangbu, there you are.” The Dalai Lama’s soft voice announcing his arrival. “I have been anxious to meet you. Brother Geshe Lob says that you have been an excellent student.”
Dropping to his knees, brad bowed, his head touching the hem of the Dalai Lama’s gown. At the touch of the Lama’s hand, brad rose to receive the Lama’s blessing; a forehead touch to the forehead. Falling into step with the dalai lama, Brad matched his long legged gait to the more sedate steps of the Dalai Lama. “I am honored by the invitation your Holiness. Brother Geshe Lob is an amazing teacher. ”
“When brother Geshe Lobsang asked me to bless you with a true name of Buddha, I thought long and hard before giving you the name Jangbu Rinzen, wise, learned, skillful, clever; the holder of intellect.” Smiling up at the tall golden young man, who seem to glow with an inner goodness, “You are young still, but for all your youth, you have a wisdom, that came to you in spirit, long before your birth. I feel no anger in you only peace and happiness. Your life’s path has not and will not always be so but hold on to your peace.”
“Yes your holiness.” Brad simply nodded, he would hold onto those words.
“Here we are.” The Dalai Lama led Brad up the steps to his private gazebo. The two men settled down and were quickly served refreshment, After a few moments of peaceful silence, the Dalai Lama began to speak, his voice held a hint of whimsy. “Your production company was kind enough to allow me a peek at your latest movie.”
“I apologize for the unedited version. I know it was rough a cut.” Brad made his and the studios apologies.
But the Lama stopped him, “No…do not apologize. I loved the version that was sent. You did an excellent job.” The Lama gave Brad a healthy pat on the back.
“Thank you your Holiness…” the Lama once again interrupted. Holding a hand up in the air, the thumb bent towards his palm. “Enough of the “Your Holiness” business, I am brother Gyatso to you.”
“Yes, your Holi…brother Gyatso. I will remember.” Brad took a sip of the soothing butter tea that was brought out in ornate drinking bowls.
Watching Brad, the Lama nodded, “Very good. Now then…” taking a sip of his own tea. “Every good Tibetan drinks Po Cha with a plate of Tsampa, it is very good, no?
“It is, now that I know how to drink and eat them correctly.” Putting his bowl down on the small table, he watched the Lama refill both bowls, brother Geshe Lob had taught him how to serve the tea, but the Lama wasn’t giving him a chance, choosing to serve them himself. Brad smiled, the drinking of Po Cha -or as it was called in the West; butter tea- was an experience to an outsider.
According to the Tibetan custom, butter tea is drunk in separate sips, and after each sip the host refills the bowl to the brim. Thus, the guest never drains his bowl; rather, it is constantly topped up. If he decided against drinking any tea, etiquette dictated that he leave the tea untouched until the time came to leave and then drain the bowl. In this way etiquette is observed and the host will not be offended. But Brad had come to truly like the tangy beverage. The Tsampa was another matter. It had taken a while for him to guess the right size tsampa dumpling to go with the tea, but he had figured it out with practice. The Lama’s voice broke into his thoughts.
“I met Heinrich Harrer in 1944, he and Peter Aufschnaiter. I was just a boy of eleven then, but they were given permission to enter our town after their escape. But you know that already don’t you?” the Lama laughed.
“I know what I’ve read from Heinrich’s novel but I would love to hear your experiences first hand.” Brad rolled a piece of tsampa into his bow. Smiling he watched as the Dalai Lama closed his eyes and began to recant his time with Heinrich.
“I was committed to the Monastery when I was six, my life was one of study until Heinrich and Peter arrived. I caught a glimpse of them through my telescope. I had them brought to me at the Potala Palace. Heinrich became my videographer and tutor. He taught me about the world outside of Lhasa. I was surprised that my senior and junior tutors, Yongdzin Ling Rinpoche and Yongdzin Trijang Rinpoche, allowed he and I to become as close as we did. Heinrich taught me to enjoy life but I believe I taught him to cherish it. We remained friends until he passed on five years ago. I miss him.” He paused in reflection. Sipping his tea once again , he continued. “I’ll tell you about our first music party.”
Brad settled down for the tale, he intended to fully enjoy this time, here with one of the greatest men in world.
A man of true peace.

2004 – Bangkok, Thailand…
“Smile Maddy!” Marcheline coaxed her young grandson as they faced the camera her daughter was holding. The trio stood in front of Wat Pho – The Temple of the Reclining Buddha; in Rattanakosin district, taking photos and enjoying one of Bangkok’s many culturally historic landmarks. “Come…let’s go Bunny, I want to receive a blessing from the monks.” Taking one last photo, Angelina nodded “ok mom.” and grabbed the diaper bag. Moving into the crowd, they found their way into the main temple, where the monks sat receiving donations and blessing the visitors.
Angelina gave the donations and reached for Maddox. Before she could take him, the monk spoke. “No we will give him his blessing with his grandmother. Your blessing has already be requested and cast.”

Angelina found herself at a loss for words. What did one say to that? Shrugging, she settled for the obvious. “Okay…but what does that mean?”
The monk watch her for a moment before responding. “I can only say that your presence is one of the blessed. I have only seen it once before in my life time, eight years ago when I served his holiness, the Dalai Lama. It is very rare that a person receives a spiritual blessing so strong that it can be seen before its time.” Reaching out he gently touched the top of her head. “Go child, you have been blessed by the holiest of men.”
Still confused, Angelina moved aside and watched as the Monk spoke softly to her mother, he glanced at Angelina intently for a moment before returning to Marcheline. With her blessing finished, Marcheline held Maddox up for his blessing. After blessing the toddler, the monk placed a gentle kiss on the soft downy hair covering the small head.
Shaking off her confusion, Angelina took her son and placed him in his stroller. “So mom, how about a famous Thai massage?”
Marcheline knew Angelina’s mind was on the monk’s words. But she could also tell that her daughter wasn’t ready to discuss it, so she would wait, “A Thai massage? Oh my yes…sweetie.” Bending down, she kissed her grandson. “Grandma’s getting a famous massage, Maddy?” She crowed and the two women laughed as the toddler clapped his hands, laughing hysterically.

1996 – Dharamsala, India…
Brad found himself drawn to the villages and museums. He loved the architectural designs found in the historical monuments and temples. The Tibet Museum was full of a history many in the Western world would never know. Brad wondered if they would even want to know if given a chance. Brad was amazed at the resilience of the Tibetan people and the plight of the Dalai Lama, exiled from his home.
Brad knew without a doubt that he would return and when he did, he would not come alone. Taking in the beauty once more, Brad turned and left the museum . He was to see the Dalai Lama once more before he left. He would truly miss the Lama.

Walking quietly into the temple, Brad moved slowly down the aisle, the brothers sat on either side of the aisle. He bowed deeply, once he reached the Dalai Lama. “
Your Holiness I wanted the chance to thank you once again for allowing me entry into your home, your teachings and your blessed presence. I have found a peace which I did not believe possible.”

Turning to brother Geshe Lob, “Brother Lobsang, thank you for extending your kindness to me here and on the set. Other than Missouri, I ‘ve never felt so at home.”
Bowing, Geshe Lob answered softly, “It was my pleasure Brother Rinzen. May you take the lessons you’ve learned here with you on your journey.” Reaching out he gathered Brad into a tight hug. “You will always be welcomed here.”
“I will and from the bottom of my heart I thank you.” Brad answered, tears choking his words.
“Come closer Brother Rinzen.” The Dalai Lama called out. Stepping down from his seat moved to stand in front of Brad. “I prayed long and hard for this blessing.” He pulled a small rolled parchment that was sealed with the Dalai Lama’s personal seal. “This blessing was written in the old Tibetan language and sealed by my hand. When the time comes, I will invite you back here to your home and we will read it together. Until that day keep this in a private and safe place. Never travel without it. But do not break the seal until we meet again.” Hugging Brad, the Dalai Lama gave him a final blessing, placing a white satin scarf around the young man’s neck, the Lama touched his forehead to Brad’s. Travel home safely and may your path be blessed enlightened understanding.”
Brad knew that he would never forget this experience. He would tell his children and grandchildren of his journey. He felt a simple sadness in leaving but a joy in knowing that one day he would return.

2004 – Bangkok, Thailand…
Sitting cross legged in a bank of pillows, Angelina leaned forward against a large pillow, her mother handed her. Eyes closed, Angelina meditated as artist Sompong Kanphai, chanted the Buddhist prayer and blessing he’d created specifically for her. Her mother and son had accompanied her here. They’d arrived four days ago after a weeklong stay in Cambodia, where the Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen had offered her Cambodian citizenship in honor of her humanitarian work and because she adopted a son from the kingdom.
Sompong Kanphai had spent the last couple of weeks in solitude, praying and meditating for inspiration. He had even corresponded with the brother monks here and in Dharamsala This tattoo would be both a blessing and a guardian for the young humanitarian. She was giving herself to those in the world who needed someone to care and he wanted her tattoo to reflect her sacrifices, her spirit and attitude. He’d recognized her spirit years ago when he’d done her first Yantra tattoo, the prayer for her and her baby Maddox, a son of Buddha. She had such an aura then, but her aura now was potent. It was as if her path had been written solely for her by Buddha’s hand. He had been sent a sealed letter from his holiness the Dalai Lama himself, only to be open as he finished the tattooing. What he read in the letter would help him complete the art and the blessing.
Marcheline was so proud of her daughter. She was still reeling from the honor; the Cambodian Prime Minister had given her daughter. Angie had come so far and now her life seemed to be settling along the path she was meant to travel. Angie’s hard work with the UNHCR was really starting to be noticed. Her career was moving forward and she was an excellent mother. The pride she felt was only second to the love she felt for her youngest child. She was happy that she’d come with Angie.
They had taken Maddox to the places, Angie had visited when she’d come to adopt him two and half years ago. They’d made new memories, memories Marcheline would keep forever. Her visit to The Grand Palace and Wat Traimit, The Temple of the Golden Buddha were unforgettable but it was their time in Wat Benchamabophit, The Marble Temple , where she had felt it, a peaceful wave of encouragement, warmth and love.
She’d gone back alone and sat there in front of the Phra Buddhajinarajafor over three hours just meditating. It wasn’t until she was leaving that she could have sworn; she’d caught a glimpse of Brad Pitt. When she’d mentioned it to Angelina, her daughter had smiled, saying that she doubted it was him. There would have been a thousand photographers outside the temple. Maybe she was right but Marcheline still felt that it had been him.

There would have been a thousand photographers outside the temple. Maybe she was right but Marcheline still felt that it had been him.
Angelina sat quietly listening to Sompong chant the blessing he infused into every tattoo. His voice was mesmerizing it helped her keep her mind free of the stress brought on by the pain of the tapping needle. Turning at her mothers voice.
“Sweetie, where did we put our bags?”
“Check in the next room. I think they are in there hanging in the closet.” She watched her mother leave and return five minutes later. She held the new camera Angelina had bought he, especially for their trip. She was horrible at taking pictures but her mom loved them. Smiling at her, she chuckled, “Mom, are really going to take a picture? Really?”
Laughing back, marcheline held up the camera and focused the extended lense on her daughters face. “Yes I am now smile beautiful!”
“Cheese!” The tattoo Sompong had decided on was an intricate one and would require over two hours of sitting. But Angelina wanted this.
Taking a few more photos, Marcheline settled down once more to watch the former monk as he worked. He was so devoted to his chant; she wondered why he’d decided to leave the monastery. It was clear he still continued the practices he’d learned there. Closing her eyes she allowed herself to relax and enjoy the peaceful air in the room. She let worries and pain seep away and just enjoyed the time with her daughter.
Sompong’s chant slowed and lowered in volume. He tapped the last of the Yantra into the smooth skin of Angelina’s lower back. Before he was finished completely there was one more thing he needed to add. As he had been instructed to do, he tapped extra designs into his masterpiece. This Yantra would always be his favorite. Privately he knew he would always lovethe young woman before but he would never tell her. To speak of such feelings would disrupt the path he knew she had to travel. His path traveled in a separate direction. The two would cross again but never would they become one. Smiling in acceptance, Sompong finished, “Your protector is finished Angie.” Gesturing to the wall of mirrors, he helped Angie stand and watched her excitement begin as she inspected his work.
“Oh Sompong! I love it!” Turn at an Angle to get a better look, Angelina did something she hadn’t done in years. She squealed before hugging the young man and letting the tears of happiness flow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Mom, do you like it?” Angelina turned around holding her tank up to sit under her breast, showing her mother the finished Yantra.
Without touching the turning flesh she traced the design in the air above it. She saw a faint design with in the lines of the yantra’s main design. But she could not see it clear enough to read it. “Oh Bunny! It’s beautiful. She stared at the tattoo for a second, pulling the tank further up Angelina’s back, . Turning to Sompong, she bowed her head and whispered, “Thank you” she stared once more at the twelve inch long, eight inch wide Bengal tiger that graced her daughter’s back. in a threatening posture as if it was giving the darkness a warning before it would attack in defense of it’s bearer. Marcheline felt as if the tiger’s spirit truly walked with her daughter. Shadowing her every step.
Bowing on return, Sompong spoke softly to Angelina, “Your blessing is complete Angie. May it guard you and your family. May the tigers spirit enhance the strong will you have to help others and to remain positive even when times become dark.”
Pulling her tank down over the cotton plaster, covering her yantra, she turned and gave Sompong a tight hug. “Thank you, so much. I can’t begin to express how grateful I am that you agreed to do this.” Bowing fully at the waist. “thank you for the honor. I will cherish this always.”
“It was my pleasure, your blessings came from a high host. You are truly blessed.” Sompong answered. He would not name the host, he would only tell her that it was a rare blessing, one not often given. Angelina had been given a life’s journey blessing. A blessing that unraveled itself as she journeyed through life. The blessing would last until she passed on and was reincarnated. In his life time only one other had been given the same blessing. Even the Dalai lama himself had not been blessed so. This young woman was truly special. Sompong knew without a shadow of a doubt, he stood in the presence of simple greatness; a woman pure of heart and compassion.
Present day,
Miraval Estate, France…
“Mmmm….” Angelina lay on her stomach in the middle of the huge bed. Brad placing tiny kisses over the tiger tattoo that seemed to call him. He always lingered there, as he was doing now. Tracing the design with the light tip of his tongue he blew gently over the damp skin, smiling as Angelina shivered slightly; closing her eyes as his lips and tongue lingered on the sensitive skin of her bottom.
Pulling back, Brad grabbed hold of Angelina’s waist and twisted her body over so that she lay on her back. Spreading her legs wide, Brad stared down at the rosy flesh left open to his hungry gaze. His gaze traveled hungrily up every curve of her body; taking in the aroused nipples that seem to cry out for his attention. Unable to resist, Brad leaned forward over her body, taking a needy nipple into his mouth.
The erotic pull of Brad’s mouth at her breast, sent darts of electricity shooting down through her body. Each pull and stroke of his tongue unleashing a desire so powerful, the sensation piercing her womb was as painful as it was pleasurable. She felt her body arch as she cried out passionately. Her hands clutched at his shoulders convulsively. She felt like a captive as she lay there under his control. His hand surrounded one breast, kneading gently, his thumb brushing over the aroused flesh, while his mouth held the other throbbing nipple in a shattering caress.
Angelina slid her shaking fingers through his thick dark blonde hair and held his head, only dimly aware of the whimper that seemed to come from some place so deep inside of her she hadn’t known that it was there, Pleasure washed over her in burning waves, each one stronger than the last and her body took on a separate life, a consciousness of its own beyond her control. She couldn’t be still, couldn’t slow the pounding of her heart or stop the sounds and whimpers of need. Then she felt his hand slip lower, touching her and the burst of raw sensation was so acute the pleasurable pain returned.
Reaching down, he ran his fingers over the swollen dampness, across Angelina’s aroused flesh, the fluid of her desire slippery under his touch. Stretching her opening slightly with a small pressure, he slid two fingers inside a small distance and felt her hips rise to take them in more deeply. Taking his cue from Angelina’s uninhibited movements, Brad finished, penetrating her heated tightness until his long fingers disappeared inside of her wet passage. Feeling her trembling contractions begin his strokes increased. Bringing her body to the edge of ecstasy, Brad pulled his fingers from her tortured body.
Angelina whimpered at the loss. Her body was on fire, a fire he’d purposely started with his teasing fingers and mouth. Lord, how she loved this man. The way he touched her, the way he tasted, the way he smelled…everything about him aroused her. Caught in a haze of heat, she was unprepared when Brad swiftly positioned himself between her quivering thighs and entered her.
She cried out at his forceful entry, his enormously aroused shaft forcing her passage to open wider for him. In the end it was a matter of exquisite need. Wrapping her legs around his waist, he placed the soles of her feet together, rendering her passage more open to his assault. “A woman must surrender to her man, always.” He growled in her ear, driving deep and powerful.
“Yes, always.” Angelina nodded wildly, she wanted him to keep up the force of his thrust…she would say anything he wanted at this point as long as he didn’t stop. Her breath caught as the tip of his shaft pressed hard against her trembling womb, and intoxicating sensations burned like flame through her body.
He moved with a controlled grace and she followed him, the carnal dance began as their desire took hold. Their bodies moved in an almost synchronized perfection as it had so many times before. Their emotions so feverish, it was all they could do to remember the six young children sleeping throughout the house. He drove deeply with each thrust and she welcomed him, her tight passage, wet and hot. Each thrust was met by a whimper. Angelina, with her head thrown back in between the pillows, painted in tiny moans; moans that soon turned to sobs. She clutched at his face as he began pouring into her; she pulled him down so that she could taste his mouth and share the feeling of him from her head to her toes. Screaming into his mouth, her climax intense, shattering.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Angelina dozed lightly, curled up against Brad, as the family enjoyed a day around the pool and a barbeque. She lifted a lid every once in a while to make sure her brood were behaving and in no danger. All of the children were excellent swimmers and papa was in the pool with them, but mommy was always on alert.
“Hey Mad…Pax! No running around the pool!” Brad called out. Running his fingers down Angelina’s arms, laying a gentle kiss at her temple. He was glad to see her finally relaxing and getting some rest. She’d come back from Somalia three weeks ago severely dehydrated and exhausted. After a three day hospital stay, the doctor had placed her on strict bed rest and now she was backed to her old self, but taking things a bit slower. His parents had come to France to help him with the kids. They’d brought his sister’s children and two of his younger brother’s children. The house was full and lively, he was getting to spend time with his parents, his love, his children and nieces and nephews. This was paradise.
Leaning over, he nuzzled Angie’s ear, “Want go get nasty? I got two fingers ready to go exploring.” Laughing out loud, she reached up to push the hair that shifted across her eyes. “Oh my god, you are just such a pervert and with your parents right here and your children too!”
Shrugging, brad twirled a piece of hair around his index finger and thumb, “My parents have three children, I’m sure they’ve gotten “nasty” before…though it unnerves me to think about it. The kids have walked in on us enough times to know the true meaning of ‘money…daddy’ time.”
Jane walked over to the lounging couple and handed Angelina a bottle of water, “Here sweetie,” She placed, two small blue pills in Angelina’s palm, “The last two.” Bending over she lifted Angelina’s face, so that she could get a good look at her. “You look much better today.” She dropped a kiss on Angelina’s head and added one to Brad’s, before heading over to the picnic style tables that had been placed around the pool area. Clapping her hands loudly to get the attention of the eight children and their grandfather, “Okay! The tables’ are set. Time to get ready for dinner!” pointing to a stack of extra napkins. “Zee, sweetie can you hand me those.”
“Yes nana.” The beautiful young girl ran to do her grandmother’s bidding happily. “Let’s go guys! I want you to get dried off!”
Looking around Brad felt a peace that had shadowed him since meeting the Dalai Lama, years ago. It had remained almost out of reach, but after meeting Angelina, it had returned in full force. He had a lot to thank the Dalai lama for. One day he hoped to get the chance to do so. His mind drifted to the sealed letter that the Dalai Lama had given him so long ago. The seal had never been broken, though there were times when he wanted to break the seal and translate the words, but he was bound by his oath and he would not break it. He’d even had a heated discussion with Jennifer, when he’d caught her trying to open it. No he’d given his word.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Looking up as their guess was ushered into the family room, brad recognized an old friend, Brother Geshe Lobsang Phelgyal. Standing Brad rushed over to give the older man a hug. “Brother Lobsang!
“Brother Rinzen! It is very good to see you and to finally meet this glorious family of yours.” Geshe Lob smiled as he spoke. Brother Rinzen’s aura glowed with peace and love. He was introduced to Angelina Jolie, a woman he and the brotherhood greatly respected. Brother Geshe Lob was introduced to Mr and Mrs Pitt, brother Rinzen’s parents, truly good and selfless people. He would have a good report to give his holiness. After the introductions were made, Brother Geshe Lob told Brad his reasons for coming.
“You remember when you were given the sealed blessing and you were told not to open it until His holiness, the Dalai Lama invited you to the temple once more?”
Nodding Brad answered, “Yes, I still have the gift and it is still sealed.”
“Good. His Holiness sends his personal invitation.” Reaching into his traditional robes, he pulled out two ornate envelopes and handed one to Brad and the other to Angelina, “and this is your invitation, “Sisiter.”
Angelina accepted the envelope with a confused looked, “But…but I don’t know his Holiness. We have never met.”
Smiling, Brother lob spoke softly, “But he knows you and would be if you would join him. You are also invited.” He smiled and bowed to Brad’s parents.
Turning back to Brad, “His Holiness has assigned a large private house in the complex for you and your family. Should I tell his Holiness that you both accept?”
Both nodding, “Yes”
~Brad & Angelina~
Brad felt at home in Dharamsala and his ease
showed. He showed Angelina and his parents around the small town, introducing them to his favorite sites. He introduced Angelina to the places that called to him and watched as they called to her in the same way. The colorful buildings and the soft spoken giving residents enchanted the whole family.
They watched their children explore the museums, the temples and meet the locals. He’d taken his sons to hear couple of the Dalai Lama’s teachings. Even Knox sat quietly listening. He’d become the darling of the Temple. The girls were discovering the history of Buddhism and were enjoying every moment of it. Brad had reveled in the pride and amazement he felt at watching his children embraced the Tibetan culture. He’d taken his family to the many shops and cafes. He watched his children make their own friends, just as he had so many years before
The children had even adopted one of the Temple cats, or maybe Ceba had adopted them. The cat was their constant companion. They couldn’t have asked for a better Sherpa. Ceba even seemed to know the spots that would become favorites of the children. The adventurous feline had even taken up residence with the family, sleeping in the either boys’ or girls’ rooms each night.
“Brother Rinzen!” The Dalai Lama called out as he rushed to gather Brad into a hug. Turning to Angelina, he did the same, “I finally get to meet the woman referred to as “The Angel” Leaning in, he spoke a sparkle in his eyes, “You have quite a following. Your good works are sometimes the subject of my teachings.”
Bowing Angelina, spoke softly “I am Honored your Holiness.”
While others here call you “The Angel” I think Sister Tashe Choden is a better fit. It means lucky, prosperous, auspicious; the devoted one. You were born to travel a very lucky and prosperous path, yet you give of yourself and your finances. You are devoted to your family, your mate and your humanitarian work. You are truly the goddess of compassion and I am honored to have you here.”
Angelina was speechless for a moment, what did one say to the Dalai Lama? ”I’m the one who’s honored. Thank you.”
Brad introduced his parents “Brother Gyatso, I would like to introduce my parents, Bill and Jane Pitt. Mom…dad this is the Dalai Lama.” Jane and Bill shook hands with the Dalai Lama, speaking quietly to the spiritual leader. After a short conversation the group walked to the Dalai Lama’s private quarters. Gesturing for the couples to sit, the Lama offered refreshments and settled down for a visit. “I asked you here because it is time for you to open your blessing. You did bring it?”
Nodding, “Yes I have with me.” He patted his chest, where the sealed letter sat inside his jacket.
“Good, we will have the reading tomorrow after the morning sermon. You are all welcome to attend if you have not yet been invited.” The Dalai Lama spoke softly but his words were clear to all in the room. There will be a reading for both of you.”
“But I don’t…” Angelina began but the Dalai Lama stopped her.
“You do have a blessing but yours was not sealed in a letter. It was sealed into your second Yantra. I know this because Brother Kanphai asked me to bless your tiger. He inscribed the blessing inside of the tiger itself.”
“I never knew. He told me what the Yantra meant but not that there was a blessing inscribed inside of it.” Placing her hands together she touched her mouth then her forehead in thanks. “Thank your Holiness.”
“It was my pleasure; you have worked hard for others. Your family works hard to help others as well. This world needs more humanitarians like you, Brother Rinzen and the rest of your family.”
A knock on the door stopped the Lama’s next words. He called out softly. “Come in.” Brother Geshe Lobsang entered the room followed by Sompong Kanphai. “Ahhh…Brother Gendun and Brother Kanphai.” Turning towards the group, “Brother Rinzen, I’m not sure if you were aware that Brother Lobsang took Full Monastic Ordination under me. He is now called Brother Jampel Gendun and though Brother Kamphai is no longer in the order, we still consider him our brother.” Turning toward Angelina, It has been a long time since you have seen Brother Kamphai, has it not?
Nodding excitedly, Angelina rushed over to Sompong, hugging him. “It is so good to see you again!”
“You look wonderful Angie. Motherhood definitely agrees with you.” Sobering he added, “I heard about your mother’s passing; a more gentle spirit, I have yet to meet and I am glad that I had the pleasure to spend time with her.”
“Thank you, she enjoyed her time with you and in Bangkok. She loved it there.” Turning she started to introduce Sompong to Brad. But he stopped her. “No need for introductions, I’m a big fan of your work, Mr. Pitt.” Reaching out he pulled Brad into a huge bear hug.
Returning the hug, Brad laughed “Please…no Mr. Pitt…just call me Brad. Angie has talked about you a lot. I find her Yantra fascinating. I believe it’s been calling to me since the day I met her.” Guiding Sompong to his parents he made the introduction. “Mom…dad, this is Brother Kampha, he created Angie’s, Tiger and her Shoulder Yantra as well.”
Angelina spoke softly to Brother Lobsang. “Dharamsala is such a beautiful city. Our family is really enjoying our stay. Brad has spoken of you and his Holiness. He cherishes the time he spent here.” She smiled into the Monk’s eyes. “he has shown us all of his favorite places. He learned much in his time spent here with you. I have you to thank for the man he is now.”
“No…not me. He spent a lot of time in counseling with the Dalai Lama. I believe he found the beginnings of his path here.” Lobsang spoke just as softly. He watched as the Dalai Lama began to address the room. “I believe his holiness is ready.”
Turning, Angie watched the Spiritual leader. She felt Brad’s arm steal around her waist, pulling her gently against his side.
Holding his hands out the Lama spoke, he didn’t raise his voice but they all heard him clearly. “It is time, if you will all follow me.” He turned and walked into an adjoining suite. The others following quietly but filled with excitement.
The lama gestured to two large ottoman seats. Brad helped Angelina sit before seating himself. The Lama sat in a high-backed ornate chair in front of the two, with brothers Kamphai and Lobsang standing on either side. Bill and Jane sat on one of the suites sofas.
“Brother Rinzen came here several years ago at my invitation, when he arrived, I saw a young man, not quite sure of the path he should walk. He was restless. He had many questions and though he smiled he was not happy nor fulfilled. Of his own volition, he learned to meditate; he attended the teachings and sermons of the Temple. He was given the name Brother Jangbu Rinzen; a name that represents his path and character. When his time here was over, he left with a deeper understanding of who he was and his path clear to him. I believe he may have made a few detours along the way but in the end he has returned once again to the life he was meant to have. A life full of love, wisdom, strength and prosperity.”
When he left I handed him a sealed envelope that held a private blessing. I explained that I would read his blessing when I was sure he was ready to hear it. Brother Rinzen, may I have the letter I gave you so long ago.” He held his hand out for the envelope, Brad carried. Placing it on his lap, he turned and addressed Angelina. “A few years ago, I received a special request from Brother Kamphai, regarding a special Yantra he was creating. He explained that the bearer of the Yantra was a woman of conviction, unquestionable integrity, compassion, unequaled beauty, and a wisdom far beyond her young years. He never told me your name just that he’d felt a greatness in you the last time he’d seen you. I took his request seriously and in meditation, I asked for a blessing befitting such an amazing young woman. Kamphai was instructed to inscribe the blessing into the lining of your Tiger. At first glance it appears to be just the outer lines of your Yantra but with a magnifying glass, the u-chen script becomes clear.”
Picking up the letter, he made note of the unbroken seal. “You kept your promise Brother Rinzen.” Opening the envelop he removed the parchment and began.
Dear Brother Rinzen,
I have prayed long and hard for a blessing that will follow you through life, one that will emulate the path your feet are set upon. My blessing to you is that in your life you find personal fulfillment above all things. That you learn to share your life unselfishly, teaching others with a soft voice, unending patience and a ready smile. I pray that in this life that will be filled with great prosperity, your spirit of giving strengthens. My blessing to you is that among all the souls that will walk through your life, that one fierce soul will take your hand and travel the road with you. I pray that this soul shows you the gift of compassion and enlightenment. This companion will answer to the call of Angel; around her an aura of love so strong, she will instill peace in you, the moment she speaks to you. Ingrained in her spirit, the will of the Tiger. She will teach you the true meaning of life. She will teach you to open more than your mind to this world and will always be your constant companion. The last of my blessing to you, is that you evolve into the man, your parents envisioned on the day of your birth and that your children evolve into the souls you envisioned upon their birth. You will know the world as the world will know you. You were born to greatness. Hold your family close and never stray from your paths and beliefs. Cherish she who will stand with you through time.
Walk in peace and embrace your life with truth,
Brother Tenzin Gyatso the 14th Dalai Lama
Brad didn’t try to hide the tears that slid from the corners of his eyes, he simply raised Angelina’s hand to his lips; a hand that turned and caressed his jaw tenderly. Bill and Jane sat stunned for a moment. Jane coming to herself first, reached into her purse for tissues. Handing one to her husband, she rose to give both Brad and Angelina one. Stopping before she returned to her seat, she caressed her son’s hair, her eldest child, the one with such promise. From his birth she knew he would be special and he had worn that mantle all his life; he wore it well. Speaking softly, “You have become the man I hoped.” Kissing him lightly, she reached down to grasp the hand that held Angelina’s. Squeezing both hands she pulled back to caress Angelina’s face and spoke one word, “Angel”. Turning she returned to her husband and waited for the Lama to begin Angelina’s blessing.
“Brother Kamphai, Will you please give me the letter I sent to you?” the Dalai Lama asked softly holding his hand out towards the former monk. His eyes never left Angelina’s face. “You two have always been an absolute amazement to me. Never have I been asked to bless two such souls, whose paths don’t just cross but become one. If such an occurrence happens it is usually because I was asked to bless the two after they were united.” He opened the letter that Sompong handed him. Are you ready Sister Tashe?” At her nod he continued.
Dear brother Kamphai,
After much meditation and prayer, I have been given the following words to bless this special young woman. My blessing to her is that the path she finds herself on remain luminous with love and faith. The darkest of her path is now behind her. The strength she carries will grow and allow her to tame the world with her mere presence. Her words will be heard through the mountains; a plea for humanity to search itself and understand. My blessing to her is that she remains steadfast in her beliefs of justice and the resilience of the human spirit. On the path she walks her heart will ache many times but she must allow that ach to enforce her will and compassion. She will know the world as the world will know her. She will know greatness. A greatness matched by only one other. This soul will have an aura of gold and ingrained in his spirit, the light of hope for mankind. This golden soul will cross her path at a moment when he will need understanding the most. For her compassion and understanding, he will cherish her above all things, accepting her as she is without question. My blessing to her is that this soul stand strong enough for both as they begin to travel one path together; embracing one another’s ideals and ideologies. His golden aura strong enough to shed light where unhappiness might lie. I pray that the foundations they create will carry on through time. My final blessing to her is that she becomes the mother of a world of children; loving them fiercely while protecting and teaching them humility, grace and compassion. I pray that she and her soul mate walk a path of peace, cherishing one another and their family always,
Walk in peace and embrace your life with truth,
Brother Tenzin Gyatso the 14th Dalai Lama
After blessings are read:
The room remained silent, the only sound, Angelina like Brad, dabbing at the tears, escaping her eyes. She and Brad did not study religion as such but they were both very spiritual people and the Dalai Lama’s blessings were a reminder that spiritualty could be found in every core of life. The Dalai lama finally spoke. He seemed to be taken with his own words. The realization of what was before him, almost too much for him to process, but he would try. “I am honored that I was asked to bless two such amazing people. Your paths were chosen the day you were both born. I am just grateful that I am being allowed to see your path widen with time and love. Your humanitarian endeavors are setting an example others will follow. Because you choose to give, much is given back to you. You belong within one another, never forget that.” Giving them a moment to wipe their tears, the Dalai Lama asked Sompong to go and get the children, who were waiting outside, having returned during the reading. Excited to see their parents and grandparents, they were full of excitement. Waiting for the chatter to quiet a moment, the Dalai Lama asked the family to gather around.
Moving to the center of the room, the Dalai lama called out, using their birth names “Come and stand here before me, Brad and Angelina.” As they stood before him, he took Angelina’s left hand and placed it into Brad’s right hand. Calling Brad’s parents over, he gestured to Brother Lobsang, taking the white satin scarf the younger monk held out to him. Wrapping the white scarf around the couple’s clasped hands, he spoke again…softly.
“You two have dedicated yourselves completely to each other, with body, speech, and mind. In this life, in every situation, in wealth or poverty, in health or sickness, in happiness or difficulty, you have and will work to help each other perfectly. The purpose of your relationship will be to attain enlightenment by perfecting your kindness and compassion toward all sentient beings.”
Brad and Angelina are happy today not only because they can share the joy of their love for each other with family, but also because they have the opportunity to express their aspirations for the future. Brad and Angelina, do you pledge to help each other to develop your hearts and minds, cultivating compassion, generosity, ethics, patience, enthusiasm, concentration and wisdom as you age and undergo the various ups and downs of life and to transform them into the path of love, compassion, joy and equanimity?
Without hesitation, they answered in unison, their words filled with pride and love “We do”
Nodding the Dalai Lama continued, “Recognizing that the external conditions in life will not always be smooth and that internally your own minds and emotions will sometimes get stuck in negativity. Do you pledge to see all these circumstances as a challenge to help you grow, to open your hearts, to accept yourselves, and each other; and to generate compassion for others who are suffering? Do you pledge to avoid becoming narrow, closed or opinionated, and to help each other to see various sides of situations?
“We do”
Understanding that just as we are a mystery to ourselves, each other person is also a mystery to us. Do you pledge to seek to understand yourselves, each other, and all living beings, to examine your own minds continually and to regard all the mysteries of life with curiosity and joy?
“We do”
Nodding he touched his forehead to each of theirs. “Then I commit you as one.” Turning he did the same to each child and Brad’s parents.
“I have requested a special meal be prepared with your family as our honored guest.”
Bill took the Lama’s hand as he moved towards the door, “Thank you your Holiness. Jane and I knew that he and Angie carried a special bond but we didn’t realize just how special. Even you saw it years ago. Thank you.”
The Dalai Lama pulled the man into a hug. “He has done well for himself. He is a son to be proud of. There is no other woman that could help mold him into a great man, a wise father and a strong, loving mate.”
Shiloh looked up at her parents as the group moved out into the garden, “Mommy?”
Angie looked down at her daughter, reaching down to smooth the blonde hair that look so much like her father’s, “Yes sweetie?”
“Are we married now?” Shiloh asked. This was all very exciting but she had to find Ceba.
Brad snatched the child up, swinging her around, causing her to squeal. “IWe sure are, sweet pea…we sure are!”
The Maldives,
Waking at the feel of the empty space next to him, Brad looked over, Angie was gone. Glancing at the clock, it was six thirty in the morning, the sun was just rising. Feeling a soft salty breeze, he left the bed. Moving silently to the open balcony of their Ocean hut, he found her watching the sunrise over the ocean. She spoke without turning around, “it is so peaceful here.”
Wrapping his arms around her, he nuzzled the shell of her ear. “Yes it is and being here with you makes it unforgettable.” His parents had taken the children back home to Missouri after their two week stay with the Dalai Lama. Brad and Angelina had traveled on to the Maldives for an impromptu getaway.
After the Dalai Lama’s ceremony, Brad had asked his mother what she thought about a ceremony for the rest of his family and Angie’s family. His mother had responded by offering him her mother’s engagement ring. Brad knew Angie well and knew she would love the ring more than anything he could buy. He was even now thinking of alterations to make to the ring.
Pulling his hands up to her lips, Angelina placed soft kisses over the hands that had caressed her through the night. Turning she smiled up into his eyes. “I love you so much. I don’t know where I would be without you.” Reaching down she pick up the white scarf, the Dalai Lama had used in their ceremony. “I would be lost without you.” Draping the soft material around his neck, she used the edges to pull him down towards her. Whispering against his lips, “Husband.”
Caressing her face and throat, he stared down into the face that had graced his days and nights for the last six and a half years. What would he be without her? “I love you and I would be nothing without you.Wife.” Capturing her lips he picked her up and carried her back into the bedroom, never breaking the kiss.
Laying her across the bed, he followed her down. Fitting his body to hers, Brad slipped between her legs. His hungry lips returning to her swollen mouth to capture her excited gasp at the feel of his smooth hardness pressing into her slippery flesh. Raising her arms, she wrapped them around his neck pulling him closer as his body began the rhythm that would carry them to ecstasy’s door. Her body so finely attuned to his, she responded to the tiniest of movements. Her hands clawed at his back with each of his powerful thrust.
Slowing his rhythm to deep undulating, lazy thrust, he allowed his heavy pants to join hers, whispering, “You’re so beautiful.” He whispered huskily. “Especially like this, so alive, wanting me…wanting this,” Thrusting deeply, “Just me and you…together.”
The sun rose on the two lovers as they brought each other to the pleasure of fulfilled bliss,
She was his and he was hers.
